

Under the hood of Peters’ custom Monte Carlo is an original LS6 short block V8 engine, which she says she upgraded with “all sorts of custom performance engine components,” and topped off with a set of black Chevrolet valve covers.

Adrienne Peters, the Performance Parts Products and Marketing & Social Media Manager at Chevrolet, bought her 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo when she was in college and says she had a vision to “create something very unique, very unexpected,” and “wanted to customize the car and make it very functional and just very sinister and dark looking.” At the same time, though, she also wanted to retain some of the more “traditional elements,” of the 1970 Monte Carlo, so she didn’t go too wild with the custom bodywork. This radical-looking 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo isn’t from the GM Heritage Center, but rather belongs to a GM employee.

So far, we’ve seen the automaker shine the light on its 1975 Chevrolet C10 pickup and 1959 Chevrolet El Camino Custom, but the automaker has now turned its attention to something a little bit different. One of those ways has been to document vehicles from its Heritage Collection. This event is online only due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the automaker has still found some creative ways to engage with Chevrolet fans during these rather unprecedented times. This month, Chevrolet is celebrating its past with the ‘ Cruising the USA in Your Chevrolet‘ enthusiast event.
